District Tobacco Control Cell (DTCC), Tuensang, in collaboration with Frontier En-Bloc (FREE) Motorcycle Club, Tuensang, organised an anti-tobacco motorcycle rally on February 19 at District Hospital Tuensang (DHT), on the theme “Choose life, not tobacco.’
During the programme, SDPO of Tuensang, Manish Bhartiya, spoke on the importance of spreading awareness on the negative effects of tobacco among the police personnel.
The medical superintendent of DHT, Dr. Puse Leigise, stated that the bike rally is an important initiative to spread awareness on the ill effects of tobacco in the society, while Dr. Firdous Ahmad highlighted on the different types of cancer caused by tobacco as well as the social and economic implications due to use of tobacco.
Meanwhile, the president of FREE Motorcycle Club, Changkumba, thanked the DTCC for organising the rally and assured the club’s support and collaboration even in the future.
The programme was chaired by DTCC consultant, Sentilong Longchar, and junior dental specialist Dr. Aoyanger delivered the vote of thanks.
It stated that around 15 bikers along with other officials attended the programme.
