AR celebrates Kohima Orphanage and Destitute Home foundation day
DIMAPUR — Assam Rifles, in its continued effort to support and uplift local communities, celebrated the foundation day of the Kohima Orphanage and Destitute Home (KODH) with great enthusiasm.
Maj. Gen. Manish Kumar, who attended the celebration, expressed his admiration for the tireless work being done by the Kohima Orphanage and Destitute Home for the underprivileged children of the region, a defence release stated.
He emphasised the Assam Rifles’ longstanding commitment to societal welfare, particularly in reaching out to marginalised communities.
Kumar also highlighted the importance of community support and collective efforts in providing the children with a nurturing environment.
On the occasion, Assam Rifles distributed a wide range of books, clothing, monetary aid and essential items such as food supplies and daily utility items to the children, encouraging education and ensuring they are equipped with basic necessities for their well-being and growth.
“Assam Rifles remains dedicated to its mission of not just ensuring the security of the region but also actively participating in humanitarian and community-building activities. The day’s events reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to ensuring a better future for the children of Kohima,” the release added.
