Assam Rifles conducts repairs at orphanage, organises tournament
DIMAPUR — The Assam Rifles conducted maintenance and repair work on Tuesday at the Care and Support (Orphanage) Home in Chungtia, Mokokchung, as part of its civic action programme.
According to an update, the repair work was conducted in four rooms, involving tasks such as electric fittings, floor issues, roof repairs, and other minor works.
This will benefit a total of 38 children currently living in the home, it said.
Educational tour for children
Meanwhile, on the second day of an ongoing educational tour organised by the Assam Rifles for children from border villages in Shamatore, the team visited Impur village in Mokokchung and the Assam Rifles Dog Unit in Jorhat.
In Jorhat, they witnessed a dog show.
Volleyball tournament at Bumei
The Assam Rifles, as part of the ‘Khel Khel Mein’ initiative, organised a volleyball tournament for the youth of Bumei, Monyakshu, and Changlanshsu villages at Bumei, Mon.
The event was organised with the aim of promoting the importance of good health among the local youth.
The update mentioned that the opportunity was utilised to motivate the young participants to consider joining the armed forces and instill a spirit of camaraderie among the youngsters.
