DIMAPUR — In an effort to promote the spirit of unity, Assam Rifles organised a band display and dog show at Loyem Memorial Astro Turf Football Ground in Tuensang town on Tuesday.

An update from the Assam Rifles stated that the event was witnessed by two school principals along with 35 teachers and 860 students from six schools in Tuensang town. It added that the served as a platform for students to witness the disciplined coordination of the Assam Rifles’ bagpipe band and enjoy the enthralling martial patriotic tunes that resonated across the venue.

It stated that the band display not only showcased the precision and skill of the Assam Rifles band personnel but also highlighted the essence of unity and harmony.

A major highlight of the event was the dog show, which drew applause from the young audience. It stated that the impeccably trained dogs showcased their agility, intelligence and obedience in a series of enthralling demonstrations. Iy added that the dog show not only entertained the attendees but also underscored the vital role that animals could play in fostering a sense of community and interaction.

“We are thrilled to have witnessed such an incredible display of talent and unity,” said Sunil Thakur, principal of Government Higher Secondary School, Tuensang adding, “The Assam Rifles’ commitment to engaging with the community is truly commendable.”

The event also provided an opportunity for the students to interact with Assam Rifles personnel, fostering a sense of mutual respect and understanding. It stated that the interaction has inspired and motivated the younger generation.

“We are delighted to have had the opportunity to organise this event for the students of Tuensang,” said commandant of 28 Assam Rifles adding, “Our aim was to bring joy and inspiration to these young minds while also showcasing the multifaceted capabilities of our force.”

The report further stated that the Assam Rifles’ band display and dog show have left an indelible mark on all those who attended and reinforced the importance of community engagement and unity.
