Assam Rifles plants saplings, holds interactions
DIMAPUR — Assam Rifles organised a tree plantation drive in Mokokchung district on Sunday to commemorate the upcoming Independence Day.
According to a press release, Assam Rifles personnel planted a total of 250 saplings of various indigenous and fruit-bearing varieties.
The force also held separate interactions with village chairmen, GBs, and other key individuals of Tuli and Aboi to understand the issues faced by the locals.
During the interaction, the locals were briefed about the upcoming Independence Day celebrations as well as the SSC and Agniveer recruitment.
The villagers were assured of the Assam Rifles’ commitment to their safe and secure future. In turn, the villagers pledged their support to the security forces in maintaining peace and harmony in the area and vowed to contain illegal activities.
Further, Assam Rifles conducted a security coordination meeting with the locals aimed at strengthening cooperation at Thanamir village, Kiphire district, on August 7.
