DIMAPUR — Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the local schools and village leaders of Inbung under Peren district, undertook a tree plantation drive with the goal of enhancing the region’s green cover and promote ecological balance.
The event commenced with a gathering at primary school of Inbung village, where representatives from Assam Rifles, local administration, and community members joined hands to sow the seeds of environmental stewardship.
A defence release stated that soldiers of Assam Rifles along with the villagers have actively participated in the plantation drive. It added that the tree plantation drive witnessed an overwhelming response from the students of primary school and individuals from all age groups.
It stated that the tree plantation drive was a significant step towards sustainable development and preserving the natural beauty of Nagaland. It also aligned with the larger vision of the Assam Rifles in contributing towards nation-building and ensuring a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future for generations to come.
In another programme, the Assam Rifles carried out a tree plantation drive with the residents of Kepujang village under Peren District on July 4.
It stated that the security forces along with the youth and villagers raised awareness on the importance of afforestation and cleanliness in one’s daily life and global ecosystem. The plantation drive was aimed at achieving the vision of Swachch Bharat Abhiyan.
The tree plantation and cleanliness drive was followed by interaction of security forces with villagers.
