BC Roy Trophy: Nagaland, Haryana finish in 2-2 draw
DIMAPUR — In Tier 2 of the Junior Boys’ National Football Championship (BC Roy Trophy) 2024–25, Nagaland and Haryana finished with a 2-2 draw.
According to an update, Nagaland was able to equalise during the additional four minutes of play. It now needs to win both of their remaining matches against Manipur as well as Andaman and Nicobar to secure a place in the semi-finals.
Nagaland’s first goal was scored by Ayhunlo at 7 minute and 40 second, with the equaliser coming from Thangginhao Singson during the 4th minute of the additional time. Nagaland conceded goals in the 21st and 58th minutes.
Nagaland’s next match, which is against Manipur, is scheduled for 2 pm on August 2.
Assam girls’ team wins against Telangana
The Assam girls’ team won their match against Telangana in the National Junior Girls Football Championship (BC Roy Trophy) 2024–25, played in Belgaum, Karnataka, on Thursday.
Led by Serbirika Terangpi, Assam secured a 3-2 victory.
Telangana opened the scoring, but in the 35th minute, Arti Munda equalised for Assam. Telangana scored again in the 45+2 minute. At halftime, Telangana led 2-1.
In the second half, Arti Munda equalised yet again in the 55th minute, making it 2-2. Munda went on to score the winning goal, too.
The next match for Assam is on August 3 against Punjab.
