BWWA organises training on low cost teaching aids
DIMAPUR — As part of its ongoing training programme in various districts of Nagaland, Breeze Women Welfare Association (BWWA) conducted training-cum-workshop on low-cost/ no-cost teaching aids at Livingstone Foundation International (LFI) in Dimapur on January 27.
An update from the association stated that that workshop was conducted with an aim to encourage the teachers and students to take active interest in teaching and learning by utilising low-cost teaching-learning aids.
It stated that the training at LFI was divided into three sessions, which was attended by teachers from various schools including St. Paul Higher Secondary School, Lewis Academy, Spring Blossoms Academy and the host school.
Speaking on the occasion, LFI chairman, Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema, encouraged the students to hone their skills in order to keep themselves abreast with the changing and modern world. Stating that the system of marks and grades have become obsolete in today’s educational system, he has emphasised on holistic development of a child including not only their intelligence quotient (IQ) but also their social quotient (SQ), emotional quotient (EQ) and adversity quotient (AQ).
During the student development session led by the dean of Kaziranga University, Bobby Roy, Abhijeet Bharadwaj, a team of students from the university demonstrated various intriguing and exciting facets of new and emerging developments in the field of artificial intelligence. It included virtual reality, augmented reality, mixed reality and robotics.
Other highlights of the training included a session on low cost/ no cost teaching methodology by Bipul Sangma, Nabi Hassan, and Bobby Bol Zeliang as well as a workshop on low cost learning aids by Pritom Routh, regional manager at ThinkTac, Bangalore.
“This programme has been catalysed and supported by the National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC), Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, and in active collaboration with Kaziranga University, Jorhat, and ThinkTac, Bangalore,” the release added.
