Informing that the Centre is considering exemption of the tribals from purview of UCC, he also mentioned that the Article 371(A) of the Constitution guarantees special privileges for Nagas including customary and religious practices.

On issue of ‘Frontier Naga Territory,’ the minister said that henceforth the negotiations will be tripartite and will include the state government at every stage for all purposes.

Kenye also urged the Chakhesang community to be honest and self reliant.

Nienu told the gathering not to bask in past glories but to retrospect and introspect to be more sincere and honest as a community. The NPF leader also called upon the community to be proactive to issues that are detrimental to the Chakhesang community and the state at large such as the UCC and ENPO’s demands which, he said “will have ramifications.”

Khamo pointed out that despite the many challenges and prevailing situations in the world and society, God has been faithful to the Chakhesang people.

Stressing on the need to be self-reliant, he advised that those who are able to get into government service should pursue it, while others should venture into business and entrepreneurship.

Further, he urged the people to uphold their faith and live by the principles of honesty, hardwork and culture.

Dr. Mero called upon the people to give efforts to where there are rooms for improvement and also to strive to live in peace and harmony.
