Chief Minister campaigns for Sharingain Longkumer, describes him as highly responsible leader
Mokokchung, Feb. 22 (EMN): Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Wednesday lauded the dynamic leadership of incumbent Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) Speaker Sharingain Longkumer, who became the youngest NDPP legislator after winning the by-poll in 2020 from 26 Aonglenden AC.
Addressing an election campaign at Soyim Aonglenden, Rio said Longkumer is “highly responsible” person who could be the future leader not only for his constituency but also for the whole Nagas considering his capabilities.
Longkumer, who is contesting in the upcoming election from the constituency and party, reminded the gathering that 26 Aonglenden AC he is representing is named after the sacred and revered ancestral ground known as “Aonglenden”.
While maintaining that his commitment to NDPP’s motto was reflected in his performance during his three years stint as a legislator, giving his best during the period, he appealed to the people of his constituency support him again.
He told the gathering that he is committed to working for the socio-economic uplift of the constituency and the Naga society as a whole. He also shared his vision to work towards a state of excellence, to empower youth and women, and contribute to progressive sustainable development.
He went on to laud the chief minister, saying that NDPP has reached its greatest height under his leadership.
Several leaders like former MLA Imtiyanger and Metsubo Jamir, star campaigner, spoke during the event.
