Concert in Kohima on November 11
KOHIMA — A group of five friends has come together to initiate a concert for a local artiste, Visetuo Chüpuo, as he dedicates 35 years of his life composing and singing local dialect songs.
The concert will be held at the Capital Cultural Hall in Kohima on November 11 from 4 pm onwards.
The members of the group are: Rukravolie Rülho (Convenor), Thepfukhrietuo Rüpreo (member secretary), members Dievi Yano, Atseizo Sorünuo, and Chüwhuotuo Kense.
Briefing the media at the Angami Youth Organisation office in Kohima, Rukravolie Rülho, said: “We feel he (Chüpuo) deserve our regards and support”.
He informed that ticket (chair), priced at INR 500, will be made available at the venue on the day of the event.
The team thanked well wishers for supporting the event by buying tickets and further requested the people to support him in his endeavour.
The 49-year-old artiste, Visetuo Chüpuo, said that the upcoming concert will be his second in his 35 years of musical journey. He said that he always wanted to have a concert but did not get the platform.
In preparations to the concert, Chüpuo is practicing with Nagaland DGP band for quite some time now. He is planning to present 12 to 16 songs at the event.
Chüpuo started singing and composing originals at a young age of 14.
In a span of about 35 years as a musician, he has composed 115 songs (in Tenyidie and Nagamese) and released seven albums. His songs include gospel, sad songs, love songs and so on.
The concert will also feature guest artistes like Mengu Soukhrie, Aseno Metha, Vikuyole Tase, and Rokovi Khawakhrie.
Advisor for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Zhaleo Rio will be the special guest for the concert.
