Covid-19 recovered cases reach 100 in Nagaland

Dimapur, June 16 (EMN): Nagaland’s tally of Covid-19 recovered cases reached the century mark on Tuesday, according to the daily composite data of the department of Health and Family Welfare.
As of 3 pm on June 16, the total number of recovered cases was 100. As per the department, the current recovery rate is at 56%.
Meanwhile, two more positive cases for Covid-19 were recorded on Tuesday, taking the state’s tally to 179.
“Two new cases of Covid-19 positive have been reported out of 316 samples tested. All cases are from Kohima QC,” the minister for Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom, tweeted on Tuesday morning.
It may be mentioned that Nagaland recorded its first Covid-19 positive cases on May 25 when three returnees tested positive for the virus.
As per the Health department’s update, there are 79 active cases in the state and no death till date.
According to Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha, all the 79 active cases are asymptomatic.
“As per the distribution of the 179 cases by age, there are four cases between 0-17 years, 169 cases between 18-44 years, four cases between 45-64 years and two cases between 65-74 years. As per the distribution of gender, there are 111 males and 68 females.
“Till date, a total of 6,987 samples have been tested. Results of 5,582 samples have been received and 1,405 samples are awaited. Out of the 6,987 samples, at the BSL-3 lab at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima, till today a total of 3,607 samples have been tested and out of which 135 samples have tested positive,” he informed.
Video conference with Modi
Sinha also informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted a video conferencing with the chief ministers, lieutenant governors and administrators of 21 states and union territories on Tuesday to review and assess the current situation amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
“The chief minister of Nagaland attended the meeting and he was accompanied by the deputy chief minister, the minister for health and family welfare, the Minister Planning and Co-ordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs and the Advisor for Information Technology, Science and Technology and New and Renewable Energy,” he said.
