CPO plans plantation drive to celebrate 150th anniversary

DIMAPUR — Chakhroma Public Organisation (CPO) has planned a series of events throughout the year to commemorate the 150th anniversary of its founding, which is tentatively scheduled for November 9, including the observance of World Environment Day.

In this regard, the CPO, in collaboration with the Government of Nagaland’s Department of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, is organising a plantation drive in all Angami villages in the Chakhroma area on June 5 beginning at 7 am, according to the press release.

The Chakhroma Students’ Union and Chakhroma Youth Organisation have been directed to arrange volunteers in all Angami villages to ensure the success of this drive. They are also responsible for nurturing these plants for the next two years.

It was mentioned that saplings can be collected from CPO Hall, Chümoukedima, on June 4 from 8 am onward.
