DG NCC awards cadets, officers and institutes from Nagaland

DIMAPUR — The Directorate General of National Cadet Corps (DG NCC) hosted an award ceremony at Narangi Military Station, Guwahati, honouring the exemplary achievements and contributions of NCC cadets, Associate NCC Officers (ANO), Girls Cadet Instructors (GCI), and principals of Institutions.

According to a press release, it covered the seven states within the NCC Directorate of the North Eastern Region (NER) and was held on Thursday to recognise and celebrate the dedication, leadership, and outstanding performance demonstrated by cadets, institutes, and officers within the NCC fraternity.

On the occasion, Lt. Gen. Gurbirpal Singh, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, DG NCC, presented the following awards to the NCC contingent from Nagaland:

Best College of Nagaland: St. Joseph’s College, affiliated with 1 Nagaland Girls Battalion.

Best School of Nagaland: Queen Mary Higher Secondary School, 25 Nagaland NCC Battalion, Mokokchung.

Best ANO (male), Nagaland: T/O Raju Thapa, Army Public School, Rangapahar.

Best ANO (female), Nagaland: Capt. Kekhriesenuo Solo, St. Mary’s Cathedral Higher Secondary School, Kohima.

DG NCC Commendation RDC-2024: Sgt. Sneha Sharma, 1 Nagaland NCC Girls Battalion.

There were a total of 61 prizes given to GCI, PI staff, ANOs, principals of institutes, and NCC cadets.

Addressing the gathering, the DG NCC commended the awardees for their dedication and commitment, stating that the NCC plays a vital role in shaping the character and leadership skills of the youth, instilling in them a sense of discipline, patriotism, and service to the nation.

He mentioned that they were celebrating the achievements of the cadets, officers, and principals who embody the spirit of the NCC. Furthermore, he congratulated the ADG of the NCC Directorate, North East Region, and the Group HQ for the successful conduct of the ceremony.
