Dimapur Ao Youth Organisation supports proposed demarcation of Nuiland, Chumoukedima districts
Dimapur, March 13 (EMN): Dimapur Ao Youth Organisation (Dayo) on Sunday extended support towards the proposed district demarcation for Nuiland and Chumuokedima districts, stating that it is ‘within the administrative boundary of our state.’
Dayo said that the creation of Nuiland and Chumokedima districts should not only be for ‘administrative redressal’ but also for ‘economic aspirations and opportunities for the common people by taking advantage of the Sarfaesi Act’.
“India as a welfare state has embarked upon a developmental decentralised policy through the creation of more districts to reach the remotest part of the country for equitable access to government’s programs, polices and schemes. Nagaland should also be therefore, a testimony to this noble principle and vision indeed,” read the statement.
It added that the decision of the state government to create Tseminyu and Shamator districts, ‘keeping in mind tribal sensibilities is well appreciated and should have its logical conclusion without bias’.
Dayo further stated that the proposed demarcation should be implemented without further delay.
“After required reasonable rectification, the pragmatic considerations should prevail over other trivial issues,” it added.
