Dimapur Bengali Samaj seeks apology from People for Animals
The Dimapur Bengali Samaj has accused one person identified as Hema Chowdhary and the People for Animals (PFA) of hurting the sentiments of the people of Nagaland by levelling unfounded allegations against them in connection with “eating of dog meat” and sought unconditional apology for them.
“We are deeply pained and aggrieved by your unfounded allegations relating to eating of dog meat in Nagaland. Without being aware of the ground reality and any evidence, you have taken a swipe at the people of Nagaland, thereby hurting their sentiments and insulting them. People like you create the divide among the societies and communities. Please desist from it,” read the press release issued by Dimapur Bengali Samaj.
The organisation stated that accusing and pointing finger at the people of Nagaland without verifying the current position is simply vindictive, saying that they support the PFA.
“You will do better to immediately remove your Instagram post and issuing an apology forthwith. Don’t yearn for cheap popularity by posting derogatory posts against a society or community. You will defeat the purpose of the cause you are working for. It will be in the interest of all concerned, if you seek unconditional apology,” it added.
