Dimapur-bound passenger bus from Longleng meets with accident

UPDATE: One injured person died on the way to District Hospital Mokokchung on Monday.

Dimapur, March 15 (EMN): A private bus carrying more than dozen passengers from Longleng to Dimapur met with an accident below Orangkong village just a few kilometres away from Longleng at around 3 pm on Monday.

The Dimapur-bound bus carrying around 18-19 passengers fell into a gorge, injuring nine persons, two of them serious, according to information received from the Longleng police sources.

The injured passengers have been admitted to District Hospital Longleng and no casualty was reported till the time of filing this report.

The preliminary investigation by the police suggested that the accident was caused by a mechanical failure.
