DIMAPUR — The monthly Dimapur District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on October 28 at the DC Conference Hall, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, which also had the presence of Advisor for Industries and Commerce, Hekani Jakhalu.

The meeting reviewed the dismantling of the overhead water reservoir at Industrial Village, Razhaphe. The board decided to follow the executive engineer’s recommendation for the repair and renovation of the reservoir, stated a DIPR report.

The board also discussed the issues of illegal settlements around the reservoir area and assured that the district administration would look into the matter.

Regarding the establishment of FOYA College in Dimapur, the board directed the proprietor to obtain a no objection certificate (NOC) from Higher Education and to submit the matter at the next DPDB meeting.

Agenda discussed by the board included approval for the transfer of ownership, change of name, and relocation of Saku’s Mission College, Dimapur. The upgrading of Wotsa Fine Arts College was also discussed, and the board directed the proprietor to submit an NOC from Nagaland University/Higher Education for recommendation to the state government for approval.

The board recommended the registration of the Nagaland E-Sports Foundation, Landmark Colony, and Dimapur Blessed Bonding, Duncan Dimapur, for approval to the state government.

The board directed the Tennis Ball Cricket Association of Nagaland, Dimapur, to obtain an NOC from its parent association for recommendation and approval for registration from the state government.

The board also discussed the Nagaland Special Development Zone (NSDZ) for Dimapur district and forwarded it to the state government for necessary action.

ADC Zakabo V Rotokha announced the Departmental Sports Meet, which will be held after a three-year gap from November 20 to 22, with smaller departments permitted to join forces.

The Department of Public Health Engineering (PHE) and Food and Civil Supplies presented PowerPoint updates on their recent activities, progress, and departmental achievements in the district.

Advisor Jakhalu introduced new schemes under Industries and Commerce, including RAMP, UNNATI, and MSME schemes.

She explained that these initiatives aim to strengthen the MSME sector and foster development in the state. She encouraged officials to prioritise transparency, public engagement, and proactive outreach, especially in Dimapur, a vital commercial centre for the state.

Jakhalu emphasised the importance of setting an example of dedication and integrity in public service, particularly in educating communities on issues like land management and sanitation to ensure Dimapur’s continued growth.

Dr. Tinojongshi Chang noted that the Agriculture and Horticulture departments would give a PowerPoint presentation at the next DPDB meeting. He advised societies seeking registration to secure all necessary documents before the DPDB sessions.

He also highlighted the upcoming 75th anniversary celebration of the Naga Council, set for November 2 and urged all departments to prepare for the event.
