DPDB Dimapur deliberates on bifurcation of development blocks
Dimapur, Oct. 26 (EMN): The Dimapur District Planning and Development Board (DPDB), during its meeting on October 26 in the DC’s office conference hall, has discussed on bifurcation of the existing development block of Chümoukedima and Dimapur districts.
A DIPR report stated that the project director of DRDA, Dimapur, Kethosituo Sekhose, has presented a proposal stating that with the creation of Chümoukedima district, the jurisdiction of Rural Development (RD) Chümoukedima, Dhansirpar and Kuhuboto would fall under the districts of Dimapur, Chümoukedima and Niuland, which has given rise to administrative inconvenience, particularly for the block offices, as the BDOs have to report to two different district authorities.
It stated that a proposal was submitted for those villages under Dimapur district to be constituted into a separate block consisting of 31 villages.
The second proposal was to have two blocks under Dimapur district instead of one — East Dimapur RD Block and West Dimapur RD Block.
“It was also appealed to the Board to consider three villages — Sangtamtila, L Hotovi, Shozukhu under Dimapur district, which is presently under Dhansiripar and Kuhuboto RD Block,” it stated.
The third proposal presented for consideration of Bamunpukhri ‘B’ village, which falls under Chumoukedima block, to create VDB (Village Development Board) for the village by bifurcating the present Bamunpukhri VDB into Bamunpukhri ‘A’ VDB and Bamunpukhri ‘B’ VDB, it stated.
