DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Retired Doctors’ Association (NRDA) held its first meeting on Saturday at Hotel Japfu in Kohima.
Around 40 retired doctors attended the meeting, including 92-year-old Dr. LM Murry, the state’s senior most medical doctor, MLA Dr. Sukhato Sema, MLA Dr. Tseilhoutuo Rhütso, Dr. Nicky Kire, and others.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Vikato Kinimi, general secretary, NRDA, according to a press release.
During the discussion hour, the members encouraged each other to continue rendering humanitarian service to society ‘as a doctor never retires’ and the house elected new executive members with Dr. Neiphi Kire as president, Dr. Vikato Kinimi as general secretary, and Dr. Lima Akum Jamir as finance secretary.
The meeting also decided to form a sub-committee to work out the aims, objectives, and functions of the association, with Dr. Sashimeren as convenor, Dr. Vizolie Suokhrie as member secretary, Dr. N Ngangshi Meren as member, and ex-officio members Dr. Vikato Kinimi and Dr. Neiphi Kire.
