DRSU launches t-shirt project to promote Rengma tradition
Dimapur, Nov. 23 (EMN): The Dimapur Rengma Students’ Union (DRSU) launched a t-shirt project
aimed at preserving the heritage of the community.
The t-shirts were launched at the DRSU office on Nov.21. The t-shirts have been designed with a ‘touch of traditional Rengma Naga attire, along with a bookmark containing the meaning and use of the attire,’ an update read.
Khwenhile Keppen is the brains behind the project, ‘a young mind who always wished to promote Naga tradition and culture,’ it said.
“Driven by the thought ‘modern problem, modern solution’, she aims to educate her peers and the younger Rengma generation about the culture with innovative ideas,” it read.
Profits from the project will go into publishing a book about weaving, which would record the process of Rengma traditional cloth making, it informed.
