ENWO and ESTH affiliation programme held in Longleng
DIMAPUR — The Eastern Nagaland Women Organisation (ENWO) held an affiliation programme of the Eastern Sumi Totimi Hoho (ESTH) at the conference hall of Longleng Town Baptist Church on May 17.
An update from ENWO stated that the significant event marked a pivotal moment in strengthening ties and fostering unity among women’s organisations in eastern Nagaland.
The programme was chaired by ENWO vice president, B Lianghoi, while an invocation prayer was said by PBCA women secretary, P Angbhen Phom.
Delivering the welcome address, ENWO president, Yingphe Konyak, emphasised the importance of unity for mutual uplift stating that women working together have the power to effect change. She encouraged the participants to set an example for the younger generation in fostering peace and unity in the region.
In her keynote address, Asangla Cholong, founding member and advisor of ENWO, underscored the historical significance and future aspirations of the affiliation, inspiring the attendees with her vision for collective progress and empowerment.
Representatives from ESTH and Sumi Totimi Hoho delivered short speeches, highlighting the mutual benefits and shared goals of the new affiliation. They emphasised the importance of respecting one another and working together in unity, underpinned by prayer and love.
They also acknowledged that the affiliation was a long-cherished dream that has finally come to fruition and expressed their solidarity with ENWO. The speakers further urged everyone to foster solidarity by encouraging and supporting one another with confidence.
A performance by Phomla Hoichem added a cultural touch to the event, celebrating the rich heritage of the community.
The vote of thanks delivered by Lemei B. Phom, ENWO vice president, wherein she expressed gratitude to all the participants and contributors and extended special thanks to Phomla Hoichem for their support and meticulous arrangements.
The ENWO anthem “Arise maidens of ENWO” was performed, fostering a sense of unity and pride among the participants.
Report stated that the affiliation marked a significant step towards greater cooperation and support among women in eastern Nagaland, paving the way for future collaborative efforts aimed at empowerment and development.
