Expenditure Observer for Manipur polls to arrive in state

Imphal, Feb. 2 (EMN): Expenditure Observer for Manipur, Manish Kumar Chavda would be arriving in the state soon to physically oversee the ensuing assembly election process in the state.

The observer, Chavda conveyed his visit to the state during a virtual meeting with the state officials in connection with the election expenditure in Kangpokpi district for the first phase voting of the upcoming 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election to be held on Feb. 27.

The virtual meeting was held at the Kangpokpi Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall on Wednesday.

The election expenditure and monitoring teams, which included assistant election observers, video surveillance teams, video viewing teams, accounting teams, flying squad teams, statistical surveillance team, media certification and monitoring committee and complaint monitoring cell of Kangpokpi district were present during the meeting.

In the meeting, the concerned teams from Saitu, Saikul and Kangpokpi Assembly Constituencies highlighted all the preparation, which they have taken for the upcoming election to the observer.

Prior to the meeting, the deputy commissioner of Kangpokpi district, Kengoo Zuringla, who is also the District Election Officer (DEO), had an interaction with the team members and advised them to follow Covid-19 appropriate behaviour and take care of self in order to perform election related duties without any hindrance.

The DEO also requested all the members assigned with election duties to avoid physical contact and social gathering to ensure smooth conduct of the upcoming election.
