Dimapur, Feb. 23 (EMN): A futsal tournament-cum-fete day for sensitisation on ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ was organised on the theme, “Save the girl child and educate her” at Tening town on Feb. 22.
The event was organised by Tening Town Western United Club in collaboration with Tening Block Task Force, a DIPR report informed.
Rhosietho Nguori, additional deputy commissioner, Tening, appreciated the organisers and others for taking collective initiative to uplift the youngsters through sports and spoke on the importance of parenting and encouraged the gathering to ensure the education and participation of every child in various activities.
He urged all the teams taking part to do their best and declared the tournament officially open in the presence of the organising committee and other officials.
A short speech was delivered by Dr. Menangtongzuk, MO, CHC, programme was chaired by Tumben P Tsanglao, EAC, while the vote of thanks was said by Wintatlu Domta.
