Gorkha community celebrates Bhanu Jayanti in Chümoukedima

DIMAPUR — The district-level celebration of the 210th Bhanu Jayanti was held at CTC Hall, Chümoukedima town, on Saturday and was attended by various dignitaries from different communities of Chümoukedima district.

The event was attended by Minister of Women Resource Development and Horticulture Salhoutuonuo Kruse as chief guest, president of the Chakhroma Youth Organisation Seyieneilhou Keyho as guest of honour, and president of the Peren District Gorkha Union Joshua Limbu as special invitee, respectively, according to a press release.

Nikato Y Tamang was the guest artist during the celebration.

During her speech, Kruse encouraged the Gorkha community to preserve and promote their traditions. She expressed happiness in attending the Bhanu Jayanti celebration in Chümoukedima district.

In his address, Limbu highlighted the history of the Gorkhas in Nagaland. He emphasised how the Gorkha community in Nagaland is preserving their history and culture, and he thanked the Naga community for accepting the Gorkhas as their own.

Keyho encouraged the Gorkha community of Chümoukedima district to remain united and urged them to build good relationships with other communities.
