DIMAPUR — Nagaland Governor, La. Ganesan, on Friday called upon the people of the state to reaffirm the promise as well as cherish and uphold the value of ‘Nation first’ in the strive for a better and more just world.
Speaking at the 25th memorial day of Late Captain N Kenguruse, MVC, in Nerhe Phezha village, the governor reminded the people to reaffirm the promise as well as cherish and uphold the value of ‘Nation first’ for which Captain Kenguruse so bravely fought to his last breath.
He conveyed his gratitude to Mrs and Mr Neiselie Kenguruse for the gift of their son ‘Neikezhakuo,’ who made his home state Nagaland and the entire nation proud, a statement from Raj Bhavan stated.
“Captain Kenguruse, who exemplified the highest ideals of duty and honour, stood steadfast in adversity. His commitment to protecting our values and way of life inspires us all,” Ganesan said.
He reflected on the immeasurable debt the people owed to Captain Kenguruse and countless others who have given their lives in service to the nation.
“His legacy lives on in our hearts and in the fabric of our nation. We should not forget his sacrifice and may his spirit guide us as we strive for a better, more just world,” the governor added.
He stated that heroes like Captain Kenguruse would continue to inspire the youth to always keep ‘Service before self’ and bring laurels to the family, the community and the country.
Meanwhile, the Governor complimented the Assam Rifles and the Indian army, who have always been at the forefront of honouring the Late Captain N Kenguruse, the brave heart of Nagaland. He added that the yeoman service of Assam Rifles was known to all for which they are aptly called ‘Friends of the Northeast.’
He also congratulated the efforts put in by Inspectorate General Assam Rifles-North (IGAR-N) in renovating the memorial adding that there is no better way to honour a brave heart than to follow in his footsteps and make sure that the nation remembers his name forever.
The governor further extended his gratitude and appreciation to the Assam Rifles and Indian army, who have professionally and flawlessly organised the event and paid an honourable tribute to the brave heart of the nation.
