GPS Aoyim village gets new school building
KOHIMA — A new school building of Government Primary School (GPS) in Aoyim village under Chümoukedima district was inaugurated by Temsunaro Aier, commissioner and secretary of IPR and state mission director of Samagra Shiksha Nagaland, on August 23.
The school building was constructed with the approval made during 2021-22 by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
Speaking at the inaugural function, Aier congratulated the school for successful completion of the new building. She lauded the community leaders for coming forward with their contributions besides the sanction amount made by Samagra Shiksha.
She stated that active community participation in school is extremely vital to achieve the desired outcomes.
She also acknowledged Sunep Lemtur, GB of Aoyim village, for generously donating huge plot of land for setting up the school in the village.
Aier informed that the state is focusing on improving the learning outcomes of students through various interventions. She urged the teachers to ensure that every child acquires grade appropriate competencies.
She also reminded the gathering about the NAS 2021 and FLS 2022 reports of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, where the state achievement level remained poor and called upon all the stakeholders to work hard.
Quoting African proverb “It takes a village to raise a child,” she stated that no child should be left behind and urged the villagers to continue taking active participation in the school.
She further encouraged the villagers to continue nurturing the school to let it grow into a high school or higher secondary school in future.
The programme was chaired by Aotula Anichari, teacher at GPS Aoyim.
Lanuzulu, pastor of ABC, said the invocation prayer, while the welcome address and vote of thanks was proposed by Imlinuken Ao, chairman village council, and Lima, GB, respectively.
The programme was attended by village leaders, teachers, Dr. Longri, former MLA, district education officer, N Meyase, senior SDEO of Dimapur, SDEO of Chumoukedima, EBRC officials and officials from district education office, Dimapur.
