DIMAPUR — The Gorkha Students’ Union Chümoukedima District (GSUCD) organised a career guidance seminar-cum-annual general meeting on the theme ‘Employment-linked career guidance seminar in the field of healthcare and education sector’ at Singrijan Village Council hall, on Saturday.
In a press release, the GSUCD informed that the resource persons Edward Aley, post graduate teacher (Physics), GHSS Chümoukedima, spoke on the topic ‘Education sector’ while Sanam Rana, physiotherapist and assistant professor NERMPI, CIHSR Dimapur, spoke on ‘Health care sector.’
Aley shared his personal experiences on how he got motivated in life. He encouraged the students not to limit their aspirations to government jobs alone but to explore various training opportunities to equip themselves and become self-reliant.
Rana provoked the students to dream big and to put more effort in their studies and opt for health care sector. He also informed about opportunities and employment avenues in health care sector.
Earlier, GSUCD president Jacob Sundas, in his speech, encouraged the Gorkha students to start identifying their interest and go for skill enhancement through various means.
The seminar programme was followed by the annual general meeting of the students’ union.
