The external evaluators while visiting schools conducted reading and writing exercises for children to test their learning abilities.

They also interacted with students, teachers and members of the School Managing Committee (SMC), to know about the needs of students, teachers and school infrastructures.

HAD minister, Jogen Mohan, who is the minister of the three hills districts of Assam, also came to Diphu to participate in the Gunotsav.

The minister visited Govt. Girls’ High School, Diphu, where he interacted with the students, teachers and members of SMC to know more about the school. The minister also inspected the school infrastructure.

“As a guardian minister I have visited Girls’ High School and interacted with the students and teachers to know about their requirements. The school has shown much improvement. By this Gunotsav, I can say the school will get above C grade,” Mohan told mediapersons.

The minister acknowledged that the teachers and SMC members have done a lot for the improvement of education.

“It is a pride for the school as the present Deputy Commissioner of Karbi Anglong, Madhusmita  Bhagawati, is a student of this school. Though it is a girl’s high school, it has done a lot for the education of girl students,” Mohan said.

He also disclosed that the school will be upgraded to senior secondary and the matter has been discussed with the state government.

For improvement of quality education, there should be participation of the general public to check whether students go to school regularly as also the attendance of teachers.

The HAD minister also shared mid-day meal with the students. He was joined by executive member (EM), Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Education, Richard Tokbi and deputy commissioner, Madhusmita Bhagawati.

As part of Gunotsav, EM for Social Welfare Department, Rina Terangpi, visited Rongkimi English LP School as external evaluator and conducted reading and writing for students to test their abilities.

Meanwhile, EM-KAAC for Education, Richard Tokbi, also visited Semson Sing Engti Memorial LP School, Dillaji and interacted with the students and teachers.
