Dimapur, July 29 (EMN): A district-level training on Social Awareness and Action Plan to Neutralise Pneumonia Successfully (SAANS) for medical officers (MO), community health officers (CHO) and nurses was held in the conference hall of the chief medical officer’s (CMO) office in Mokokchung on July 29.
An update from the CMO’s office stated that Dr. Ayangla Saku, DPO (UIP & RCH), in her welcome address, encouraged the healthcare workers to effectively implement the knowledge acquired from the training.
The resource persons were Dr. Imlisenba, pediatrician at IMDH, and Dr. Imtimongba, MO of Changtongya. The trainees were trained on the three aspects namely Protect, Prevent and Treat framework (PPT).
According to the report, the main objective of SAANS was focused on greater awareness generation and early detection of Pneumonia in children under the age of 5 years.
