KOHIMA — The first ever India Takeover Tour by Infinity Inc., featuring eight artistes from Nagaland, will culminate with a grand finale in Kohima on July 6.

This was announced on Thursday by Infinity Inc., the Dimapur-based record label that currently has eight artists signed under it, namely, Moko Koza, DJ Sanna, Juztino, Savino, DJ CJ, Tyah, JV, and KeneisenuoSorhie.

‘The whole purpose of this tour was to try and prove that a small record label like us can also put together and execute events like this,’ chief executive officer and proprietor of Infinity Inc., Asalie Peseyie, said during a press conference at Nagaland Coffee in Kohima.

The two-month-long tour was launched in the first week of May and has so far covered cities including Shillong, Itanagar, Delhi, Senapati, Dimapur and Kohima.

He added that talks are going on to rope in a few more cities for the artists to perform before June ends.

One of the biggest challenges for artists in Nagaland is gaining exposure outside the state and securing shows. Peseyie noted that unless artists have reached a certain level of recognition, it’s very difficult for them to get shows outside the state.

They decided to initiate this tour and create their own opportunities, rather than solely relying on the government or external parties to extend invitations.

Speaking of the challenges in organising the tour, he said one of the biggest challenges is getting shows in major cities. People are not receptive to artists coming from Nagaland and most of the artists from the state also don’t have the required credentials.

He also added that they are faced with financial constraints and networking challenges.

Theja Kire, event director of Fun Tree Crew, which will be managing the grand finale, informed that it will feature the lineup of the eight artists. They will present music genres ranging from hip-hop, rap, R&B, to EDM.

It is expected to draw over a thousand attendees. The entry fee will be INR 300 per person, and the gates will open at 3 pm.

Tickets for the grand finale, to be held at The Heritage, Kohima, will be available at selected outlets as well as on Infinity Inc.’s social media handles and other platforms.
