IRCSNB organises blood donation camp in Kohima
DIMAPUR — The Indian Red Cross Society Nagaland State Branch (IRCSNB), in collaboration with The Genesis Fitness Club and Blood Bank, Naga Hospital Authority Kohima, organised a blood donation camp at The Genesis Fitness Club, Lerie colony, on Friday.
On the occasion, Akhale V Khamo, IRCSNB general secretary, spoke on the principles of the Red Cross, highlighting its humanitarian mission and the vital role it plays in providing emergency assistance, disaster relief and education in communities, an update stated.
Dr. Avila, medical officer at NHAK Blood Bank, emphasised the critical importance of blood donation and how it can save countless lives.
The camp began with an invocation prayer said by Arep Tzudir, pastor of Kohima Ao Baptist Church, Lerie.
The blood donation camp witnessed 13 individuals coming forward to donate blood, marking a significant contribution to the local blood bank’s reserves.
“We are immensely grateful to all the donors and volunteers who participated today. Their selfless act of donating blood is a testament to the spirit of community and compassion,” said Khamo.
While extending gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the blood donation camp, the IRCSNB said that it looks forward to organising similar events in the future to support and uplift the community.
