Dimapur, July 8 (EMN): Jalukie Pumling Nko, a conglomeration of village councils under Jalukie jurisdiction, has decided that the designated Covid-19 hospital at CHC, Jalukie town, should not be allowed to shift to any other place or allow any machinery or equipment to be relocated at any cost.

The decision to this effect was taken during its consultative meeting held on July 8 at the residence of its chairman Kumui Nring at Jalukie town. An update from the organisations president Namgum Hingleu and secretary Benjamin stated that the house has decided to endorse its full co-operation in the events of any necessity that might arise to set up a new Covid-19 hospital in any part of the district.

The house also resolved that no organisation would be allowed to hold any kind of activities that might provoke the peaceful co-existence of the public. It, therefore, stated that such act would be strictly prohibited within the land of Jalukie without prior permission and consent from the concerned land owners.

In considering the reported unruly behaviour by various quarantine inmates in some quarantine centres it stated that the inmates hailing from the subscribed villages under Old Jalukie village would be strictly dealt with uniformly by respective village councils as per the law of the land with penalty of three years banishment along with the family members in the events of any breach of SOP set by the government.

The organisation comprising of 14 subordinate councils has strongly decided to extend and assist the government from the sub-divisional level to the district level in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic to effectively manage the outbreak and shun misapprehension from any quarters.

While deliberating on the delimitation issue, it resolved that the implementation of delimitation should not segregate the land and its people in different constituencies as it would undermine its traditional practices and defeat the purpose of establishing many satellite villages in Jalukie land and would have a far reaching effect for many generation to come. It affirmed that implementation of delimitation in the district should not jeopardise the aspiration of its people, the existing geographical and political harmony. It further resolved to seek their genuine rights through representation to the competent authority.
