KA police arrests two persons for possession of morphine

Diphu, Oct. 29 (EMN): Karbi Anglong police arrested two persons with morphine weighing approximately 4 kg during naka check at Dillai Tiniali along NH-29 here on Saturday.

According to police information, acting on secret information a naka was set up at Dilai Tiniali by OC Dilai and staff. At about 11.30 am, a vehicle was intercepted which was coming from Manipur. On being searched, the morphine was recovered which was hidden on the back side of the vehicle. The amount of morphine is said to be approximately INR 15 crore.

In this connection, two persons — Hemkholal Lunkin (37) of Tollen village, Churachandpur, Manipur and Jangminlal Haokip( 38) of Saikul Bazaar, Kangpokpi, Manipur — have been arrested.

Meanwhile, in a press statement, Bokajan SDPO John Das also said the team of Dillai police on duty will be rewarded with cash by DGP.
