KAAC election: Repoll in two polling stations

Diphu, June 9 (EMN): The Returning Officer of West Karbi Anglong district has issued a notification for repoll of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council election in two polling stations — 16-Punja LP School and 17-Punja ME school — to be held on June 10.

It may be mentioned that at Punja LP and ME school polling stations under Duar Amla Member of Autonomous Council (MAC) constituency, an incident took place where ballot boxes were thrown out and got damaged, while the ballot papers were burned by angry voters.

The incident erupted as the stamp used for stamping the ballot paper had gone missing. After a few moments, police personnel found the stamp inside the casting room.
