Diphu, March 30 (EMN): Cultural Affairs department of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) announced that the 11th edition of Rangsina Sarpo Film Award and Rangsina Sarpo Folk Artiste Award for 2022 will be held at Sarsing Teron (Langkung Habe) Memorial Town Hall, Matipung, Diphu on April 4.

The Cultural Affairs department has invited Chief Executive Member (CEM) of KAAC, Tuliram Ronghang as the chief guest and MP Horensing Bey as the guest of honour.

Announcing about the award function in a press conference held at Karbi Traditional Music, Culture and Research Institute, the deputy director of Cultural Affairs, Rani Terangpi further informed that the censor board had already shortlisted five films — Khamkhe, Alar, Rongpharpi Rongbe, Ne Sengve Kehang and Mirbin — for the award, which carries a cash prize, certificate and trophy.

The categories for the awards include special jury award, best child artist, best child artist, best costume designer, best choreographer, best comedian, best cinematographer, best actor in a negative role (male) among others.

The deputy director also informed that the programme will start from 5 pm with free entry.

The programme is organised in collaboration with KAAC and in association with Karbi Film Society.
