Karbi Anglong: Dhaneswar Engti receives Padma Shri award

Diphu, March 29 (EMN): Eminent writer from Karbi Anglong, Dhaneswar Engti received the prestigious Padma Shri award from President Ram Nath Kovind Shri at Rashtrapati Bhavan on March 28. The award is in recognition of his distinguished service in the field of literature and education.
Engti is the retired Joint Secretary of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC). He was the founder and editor-in-chief of the popular Karbi literary magazine ‘Monjir’ in 1976 and also founder and editor of the Karbi literary magazine ‘Samphri’ in 1984.
