Diphu, March 10 (EMN): Magistrates working in deputy commissioner’s office, Diphu, Karbi Anglong, under the banner of ACS Officers’ Association held a protest against the alleged physical assault on Bibhash Medhi, election officer of South Salmara district by office-in-charge (OC) of Satgaon Police Station, Guwahati on March 7.

Condemning the incident, Monica Bora, SDO (Civil) told journalists that the duty of the law and order personnel is to give protection, justice, and not harassment.

The incident of physical assault by the police may not be known if it was a common man, she added. Additional deputy commissioner, S Khan said that the incident was unfortunate and condemnable.

The association demanded that the culprit be immediately arrested and booked as per the law of the land for justice.
