Karbi Anglong: Man dies after falling off bamboo bridge

Diphu, June 27 (EMN): In a tragic incident, one person died after falling off a bridge made of bamboo while returning home after purchasing medicines for his wife on June 25 night in Karbi Anglong.

The victim was identified as Horichand Timung (80) of Rongplimplam Timung village under Dillai police station.

According to information received, the man went to purchase medicine at around 8:30 pm for his wife, who was ill, and fell from a bridge along with his bicycle while returning home. On Sunday morning, a passerby saw his dead body floating in the river and informed the family and villagers about the incident.

Police reached the spot and took the body for autopsy to Diphu Medical College and Hospital. The villagers alleged that the incident occurred due to the negligence of the government as the bridge remains incomplete.
