Karbi Anglong: One dies in hit-and-run case

DIPHU —One person identified as Deben Tisso, a resident of Era gaon under Bakulia Police Station, Karbi Anglong, was killed on the spot in a hit-and-run incident at the ongoing Doboka-Dimapur 4-lane road construction in the Rongkimi area around on Tuesday morning.

According to eyewitnesses, Tisso who was returning home from Bakulia was hit by a Swift Dzire that was coming from Kashmir and heading towards Manipur.

The Swift Dzire with three passengers identified as Durga Bahadur (25), Dilip Giri (23) and Maya Alimbo fled the scene but were later arrested by Manja police.

An FIR has been registered at Bakalia police station while the three persons including the car were brought to Bakalia police station.
