Diphu, Sep. 1 (EMN): The much-awaited peace agreement with the Central Government, Assam government and armed organisations will be signed on September 4. In this regard, the delegations from the six armed organisations of Karbi Anglong have left for New Delhi from Diphu early in the morning here on Wednesday.
Before leaving for Delhi, leaders of armed organisations interacted with the media where KLNLF Publicity secretary, Rijak Dera said, “We are leaving for Delhi from Diphu for peace agreement as per the information that we have received. The peace agreement will be signed on September 4.”
Dera also said, “We are indeed happy, after a long struggle movement the political problems and crisis of Karbi Anglong is going to be solved. Starting from KLNLF, UPLA, PDCK Chief Songbijit will be present and including the delegation of three factions of KPLT.”
Moreover, the Chairman, KLNLF, P Dilli said, “The delegation is leaving for New Delhi for a peace agreement.” In connection to it, he also urged everyone including the intellectuals, NGOs, civil organisation leaders to give their support and to pray for their journey as well as to give suggestions so that the peace agreement would be a fruitful one.
All the organisation’s delegates will be returning from Delhi on September 5, said P Dilli.
The six armed organisations are People’s Democratic Council of Karbi Longri (PDCK), Karbi Longri & NC Hills Liberation Front (KLNLF), Karbi People’s Liberation Tigers (KPLT) Ran Rongpi faction, KPLT–ceasefire (Donri Kramsa faction) and KPLT Mensing Kramsa faction and United People’s Liberation Army (UPLA).
