KBC Jubilee Trophy: Meriema BC, Chiechama BC through to quarter finals

Kohima, Oct. 31 (EMN): Meriema BC and Chiechama BC on Monday won their respective matches to book their slot in the quarter-finals of the ongoing Koinonia Baptist Church (KBC) Jubilee Trophy at Meriema Ground in Kohima.

In the first match of the day, Meriema BC outplayed Koinonia B 4-3. Kekhriengulie Üsou scored two goals and Khriesaneizo Vipfhe and  Ruokuosalie Yaotsu scored a goal each for the team to seal the match. Akho Hibo scored two goals and Khriesalie Üsou added another score for Koinonia B but was not sufficient to advance to the next round.

With the win, Meriema BC will play against Chedema BC on November 2, in the third quarter final match at Meriema ground.

Meanwhile in the second match of the day, Chiechama BC beat CRC Pezielietsie in a tie-breaker as both teams failed to break the deadlock of 1-1 in the allotted time. In the tie- breaker Chiechama BC won 4-3.

With the win, Chiechama BC will play against Chakhesang BC on November 2 in the fourth quarter final match at Meriema ground.

• 1st match- Christ King Church vs Phekerkriema BC (11 am)
• 2nd match- Rengma BC vs Tsiesema BC Basa (1 pm)
