Khamo felicitates HSLC toppers with cash prizes
KOHIMA — The chief patron of Coraggio School in Kohima, Vilelie Khamo, on Saturday felicitated two HSLC toppers from the school namely Meyieto Sothu and Imlibong Jamir with cash awards during a thanksgiving programme held at the school premises.
Sothu, who secured Top 6, was awarded an amount of INR 2,00,000 and fellow classmate Jamir, who secured Top 14, received INR 1,00,000 from Khamo, who is also a renowned contractor in Nagaland.
Speaking on the occasion, Khamo reminded the importance and value of education. While recalling that he established the school in his mother’s memory, Khamo encouraged the students to study hard and become successful in life.
While congratulating the outgoing HSLC successful students, Khamo further announced that even if the whole new batch of class 10 students from the school comes out in board exam top lists, he is ready to award them all with cash prizes.
Acknowledging the hard work of teachers and parents, who were behind the successful students, Hovithal Sothu, chairman of the board of directors, emphasised the importance of working hard and never giving up, which are crucial for achieving success.
The two toppers congratulated their other fellow successful students and expressed gratitude for felicitating them. They have also acknowledged their teachers for their constant guidance.
Annie Konthoujam, headmistress of the school, informed that the school secured cent percent pass with 53 students, who appeared the board exam. Students, who secured A1 grade in subjects during the exam, as all as the teachers were equally felicitated during the programme.
Along with the two toppers, Tolika K Ayemi of class 9 received Lechale Khamo Award for her outstanding academic excellence in class 8. She received a free scholarship student for securing first rank in class 8 in all the exams conducted by the school and NBSE.
