Khekrieneitso Angami wins Kumite 1 Warrior Hunt

Khekrieneitso Angami from Nagaland and Mehdi Nasirey from Ladakh were declared champions of ‘Kumite 1 Warrior Hunt’ in the male category.

In the first bout, Angami defeated Sohail Khan and entered the second round, while in the second bout, his opponent Suraj Bahadur called off the fight after a hand injury in the second round and the referee forfeited the fight and declared Angami the winner.

In the final match, Angami was to face Mehdi Nasirey, however after looking into the injuries incurred during the previous matches and for safety concern of the athletes, the host decided to cancel the final match between them and declared both Angami and Nasirey as champions of Kumite 1 Warrior Hunt.

Meanwhile, Monika Ghag from Navi Mumbai was crowned Kumite 1 Warrior Hunt champion in the female category by defeating Rekha Choudhary from Khurja Uttar Pradesh.

‘Kumite 1 Warrior Hunt’ is a reality series based on Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) competition where 16 top male and female MMA athletes compete for the title. The six-episode series was released on February 12 on MX player and the reality-show was hosted by Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty.

The participants were Shalu sharma, from Uttar Pradesh, Krishna Payasi from Madhya Pradesh, Lakhi Das, from Assam, Sameer Jhanjotra, from Chandigarh, Kiran Singh from Delhi, Sohail Khan from Mumbai, Harpreet Kaur from Punjab, Khekrieneitso Angami, Nagaland, Heena Ali, from Maharashtra, Suraj Bahadur from Punjab, Pardeep Hooda from Haryana, Monika Ghag from Navi Mumbai, Rekha Choudhary from Uttar Pradesh, Siddharth from Mumbai, Priyanaka Jeet from Bahrain and Mehdi from Ladakh.
