Winners and participations along with the judges after the inter-college extempore speech competition at City Law College in Dimapur on August 25.

DIMAPUR — Khrorite-ϋ from Tetso College won the inter-college extempore speech competition organised by ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA) held at City Law College in Burma Camp, Dimapur, on August 25.

Limayala Aier from Patkai Christian College and Medemien Lemtor from Unity College won the first runner-up and second runner-up title.

The winners were awarded with trophies and certificates, while cash awards were sponsored by Team Better Dimapur. Consolation prizes with certificates were also awarded to all the participants.

An update from AIDA stated that the extempore speech competition was organised as part of its Child Friendly City Initiatives Dimapur-Chümoukedima on the theme “One step towards creating clean and safe environment for children.”

It stated that 25 students from 13 colleges in and around Dimapur namely SD Jain Women’s College, Unity College, North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research, St. Joseph University, Pranabananda Women’s College, Eastern Christian College, Cornerstone College, Tetso College, SM College, Immanuel College, Salesian College, Patkai Christian College, and City Law College participated in the competition.

The judges of the competition were Dr. T Limanochet Jamir, principal of City Law College, Burma Camp; Vitono Gugu Haralu, spokesperson and secretary of Exotic Echo Society, Radio Jockey, community radio; and Mhonjan Humtsoe, president of Team Better Dimapur.

The welcome address was delivered by Advocate Elizabeth Thungjanbeni Ezung, assistant professor at City Law College, while Garrol Lotha, project coordinator of Child Friendly Dimapur (CDF), briefed on the concept of youth and civil society organisation campaign 2023 and Shemang S Phom, CFD child mobilisation officer, delivered the vote of thanks.
