Dimapur, Jan. 8 (EMN): KLSU and Salix Cricket Club entered the quarter final of the ongoing 25th edition of Winter Cricket Challenge by winning their respective matches at local ground, Wokha on Friday.
According to an update received on Friday, KLSU elected to bat first after winning the toss in the first match of the day against Tempo Cricket Club (Tempo CC) and put a target of 187 runs in 20 overs. However, Tempo CC failed in their run chase and conceded defeat by 52 runs.
Shancho Sede was named the Man of the Match for his score of 65 runs in 37 balls.
In the second match of the day, New Wokha Village Cricket Club won the toss and elected to bat against Salix CC.
New Wokha Village Cricket Club put a target of 97 runs at 4.85 runs per over in 20 overs, but Salix CC chased it down in 19 over and won the match by six wickets.
Bipen Ngullie, who scored 44 runs in 45 balls, won the Man of the Match award.
