Kohima College bids farewell to principal

DIMAPUR — Kohima College organised a farewell programme to Dr. M Libanthung Ngullie, Assoc. Prof., Principal (retd.), Kohima College, Kohima, on Monday.

“A small intimate programme was organised by the college to appreciate his 29 years of service in Higher Education,” an update from the college stated.

Ngullie had begun his career in the banking sector before he joined Higher Education eight years after, where he worked towards both a doctoral as well as post-doctoral thesis.

He was the only individual to take principalship four times at Wangkhao College, Dimapur College, Mt. Tiyi College and finally, Kohima College, Kohima.

The programme was chaired by the Vice-Principal of Kohima College, Keneilesa Neikha, Assoc. Prof. There were special performances by Dr. Visiezolie Yashu, Asst. Professor, and Lepenthe of BA 4th semester. This was interspersed with speeches of gratitude and acknowledgement from many, it said.

Dr. Priscilla Lotha, Assoc. Professor appreciated Dr. Ngullie for his calm demeanour in heated situations and  hard-working character. General Secretary of the Kohima College Students’ Council, Hyulo Tsela congratulated Dr Ngullie on “Ending your journey with our college”.

Tsela also applauded the retired principal for his systematic approach in administrative matters. Short speeches were also delivered by Abeni Zuchamo, Assoc. Professor, and Kewetshupe Lohe, Sr. Head Assistant honouring Dr. Libanthung for his selfless dedication towards the college.

Dr. M. Libanthung Ngullie, in his speech said, “Life is not counted in years but in experiences”, according to the update. He expressed gratitude and honour for the privilege of retiring as the principal of Kohima College.

 He also thanked the faculty members and administrative staff for their guidance, and vice-principal Keneilesa Neikha for his enduring support and holding the fort when in need.

His final message pertained to the faculty: “What do we do when we are here? Because everything has an expiry date”.

“For every student that passes through your hands, you will be called to account. Therefore, however short our time; let us do our best for the betterment of our students and for the glory of God. Kuknalim!”,he said.

Kenielesa Neikha, Vice-Principal, Kohima College gave the final vote of thanks by congratulating himon a very successful and fulfilling career. Neikha also wished him an equally fulfilling retirement life as a contributing member of society. The closing prayer was pronounced by Dr. Ketoukhrie-ü, it added.
