Dimapur, Oct. 30 (EMN): As a part of the Swachhta special campaign 2.0, which is being observed from October 2 to the 31st, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Kohima, organised an orientation on various topics such as hygiene, sanitation, cleanliness and demonstration on hand washing with the teachers and students of Government Middle School in Botsa on October 28.
Under the special campaign, KVK Kohima undertook a wide range of activities including agricultural waste management by using vermicompost, awareness on Swachhta, composting and recycling of kitchen wastes and other biodegradable waste, crop residue management by using residues as mulching materials in seasonal vegetable cultivation, cleaning of villages, roads, public places and marketing shed with the participation of villagers, students and others members of the society.
Besides, cleaning of office, clearing of old scrapped items, segregation of waste and freeing of usable space at the KVK office premises were also part of the drive carried out under the special campaign.
