DIMAPUR — A one-day training on ‘Capacity building of farm women through self help groups’ was organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Longleng, at its conference hall on July 26.
In the technical session, Dr. Pallabi Phukan, SMS (Social Sciences), delivered a lecture on importance of self-help groups, their characteristics, advantage and disadvantages, an update from KVK Longleng stated.
She also emphasised on the proper management of SHG as well different livelihood activities of SHGs, which can improve their income and enhanced standard of living.
The programme was followed with a display on income-generating activities and video presentation showcasing the remarkable success stories of SHG from Dimapur.
A total of 48 women from 11 SHG of different villages under Longleng district attended the programme.
