DIMAPUR — The Chakhesang Welfare Union (CWU), Leriechazou, Kohima, celebrated its 25th anniversary on November 24 at the NST Covenant Mission Church at Leriechazou with Küdecho Khamo, Advisor, department of Civil Administration Works Division (CAWD) and Taxes, as the guest speaker.

Speaking at the event, Khamo reflected on the anniversary as a significant milestone, expressing deep gratitude for God’s grace and guidance. He acknowledged the crucial contributions of the founding members and early settlers in promoting the growth and development of the union in the capital.

The advisor stressed the importance of identity, extending beyond traditional attire to include the community’s lifestyle and attitude, which he believes reflect the tribe’s identity. He underscored the need to embrace their Christian identity and prioritise honesty as a defining characteristic for the Chakhesang community.

Furthermore, Khamo took a strong stance against laziness, recognising its potential to hinder personal growth and well-being in contemporary society.
